You should not come to Sidari if you cannot stand the Brits on holiday, but at low season it can be an excellent choice, especially if you are in the Canal d'Amor area or Melitsa village just behind it. I agree with other reviewers that most of Sidari is very commercial and aimed at the British market, but there are some lovely tavernas if you stay away from the main strip. The Sailors in particular is very good, with real Greek food, and is frequented by the locals. Also worth a try is The Family, Mythos and The Symposium.... more

Sidari is a very English resort. Most of the bars cater purely for the english. Sidari is ideal for all types of visitors. We felt very safe at all times. We stayed at the Beach Star Hotel which is at the opposite end from the Canal d-mour this was an excellent location away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip but only a 5 minute stroll to the center, the main strip has been totally ruined by English type bars who employ young girls to dance outside pestering... more

Went to Sidari in 2006. The whole resort looked run down and not cared for - our impression was that the hotel etc providers were there for a quick buck with little thought to the impact of their actions on the surrounding area. Just come back from a week in Sidari - booked with 2 teenage lads in mind. Great weather - nice little resort but a bit Blackpoolish as someone mentioned before but ok for a week!
